H1 and Title: Similarities and Differences

Opinions are often divided regarding these two meta tags. Some experts believe that identical titles have no effect on SEO. Other SEO specialists claim that they absolutely should not be used; different ones are essential. In my opinion, both opinions are contradictory, and both are correct; you need to evaluate the situation.
What are the similarities between H1 and Title?
✅ Are headings
✅ Applies to the entire page
✅ Reflects the content of all page content, both text and photographs
✅ Equally important for on-page SEO optimization
✅ If there is no Title, H1 is automatically placed in its place, the opposite does not work
✅ Identical H1 and Title tags aren't a mistake, but search engines see them as a sign of poor quality, not perfectionism. Not excellent, just good.
What is the difference between H1 and Title:
✅ In the Title meta tag, keywords are often used in the nominative case, and verbs are used in the infinitive, as users enter them into search engines, for better indexing. Brand names, call-to-action words (order, buy, sell, rent, lease), and location clarifications (country, region, city, metro, district) are desirable. The H1 tag is written with a more aesthetic and emotional focus. And most importantly, synonymizing and word reordering are key when it comes to incorporating similar, important keywords.
- Example Title: Boss Real Estate Agency in St. Petersburg.
- Example H1: Leader in the real estate market in St. Petersburg.
✅ The Title contains more information
✅ Meta tag H1 - visible to users on the site, Title - visible only in search engine snippets or when hovering over a tab in the address bar.
✅ H comes directly before the content, Title is hidden.
✅ The title is considered a link to the page from a search engine.
